My laser hair removal journey… its been a journey! Laser was something I always wanted to get done but couldn’t commit to so I decided back in October to bite the bullet and go for it.

I decided to go to Therapy Clinic in Dublin Molesworth Street as the clinic specialises in laser hair removal so I felt like I would be in good hands. After my first consultation I felt an instant relief and got the opportunity to ask any questions I had and the consultant explained everything to me which was great.

I decided to get two areas done which worked out at a price of 79¬†euro per session. There is six sessions in total. After each session there is a 6 week gap until your next session this is so the hair growth is in the Anagen stage. After completing the six treatments I found that I still had some hair growth so I booked myself in for a couple of more sessions but this differs for each individual. Therapie Clinic are great as they always try to get you the best deal that they have so you don’t spend a fortune. I thought I would put in some FAQ’s to hopefully answer any questions that you may have.

  1. Does it hurt?

The pain is so different to anything I have ever felt. I used to wax so compared to waxing its a walk in the park. The pain I would rate a 4/10. Some areas are more pinchy than others but this depends on the hair of the individual. The only way I can describe it is like a hot pinch that is over in a second. All of the therapists there are extremely good and professional at their job if you are in pain tell them and take a break.

2. How does it work?

(*Please note that I am not a beauty therapist but this is my understanding of the treatment. ) The laser essentially is a contracted beam of light which enters the hair follicle. The laser targets pigment so the more pigmentation sometimes the more pinchy the procedure can be. Once the follicle is targeted the heat destroys the interconnections which essentially kills the blood supply preventing further growth. A patch test is always required.

3. Who can’t get lasered?

People who have extremely fair hair cannot get lasered as the laser specifically targets pigment. One thing to note is fake tan cannot be on the skin while getting lasered.

4. How long does it last?

This depends on each person, once you have completed the full amount of recommended treatments some people might only go back for a top up treatment once or twice a year.

5. What is the aftercare?

It is recommended to exfoliate the areas a few days after the treatments three times a week for three-week to avoid getting any ingrown hairs. This is essential. The laser aid gel (aloe vera gel) is great to put on after the treatment to soothe the skin and prevent any irritation to the skin.

I hope this helps to answer any questions you many regarding laser. As always I recommend speaking to a therapist to give you more in-depth information. Visit Therapie Clinic to find more about laser hair removal and start your journey. images

What better way to relax and unwind after a chaotic week than to have a pamper day. I tend to always have my pamper day on a Sunday and just spend the day relaxing in my favourite way. I’ve broken down my perfect pamper routine and included some of my favourite products.

  1. Firstly, run a bath. Nothing is more relaxing than a steaming bath to cure you from the madness that is life. Why not add the extra boujee step of adding a Lush Bathbomb to have a more spa like feeling. I personally love intergalactic for that more colourful and added fun. however, anything with lavender is perfect to set me into the pampering mood. I also use this time to exfoliate my skin and pop in a hair mask as this gives the mask the optimum time needed while you’re soaking in your homemade spa.
  2. Hydrate your skin! As soon as I step out of the bath I usually a body moisturiser to my skin to the driest points, hands, elbows knees and around my ankles. This will prepare you for a later step of my routine.
  3. Masks! I apply a face mask to cleanse my skin, hydrate and brighten. I am currently loving the Seoulista sheet mask. This brand has a multitude of masks to cure any of your skins problem. Put on one of these masks for 20 minutes and watch as your skin transforms.
  4. Skincare! Following my face mask I apply all of my favourite skincare products. I am currently loving Environ skincare and Image. I apply my Pixi Glow Tonic for that added exfoliation and glow to my skin. I then apply my Image Vitamin C serum followed by my lash serum, eye cream and my holy grail product the Environ Vitamin A moisturiser. This five step system transforms my skin leaving it silky smooth.
  5. Fake Tan. Unfortunately I don’t live in the sunshine to achieve that glowing sun-kissed skin so I have to fake it. Currently, my favourite tan is the Catwalk Tan in the medium moose. This product applies effortlessly, gives a lovely golden colour that is buildable and the wear off isn’t streaky. My ultimate face tanner to use is a more recent discovery but I have to say I have fallen in love with this product. This product is no other than the infamous James Read Sleep Mask Face Tan. This facial gradual tanner is clear, apply like a moisturiser and sinks into the skin immediately with no sticky residue. You’ll wake up looking like a bronzed golden goddess. I am going to do a whole operate post dedicated to my tanning routine so keep an eye out for that!
  6. Curl up and watch a movie. The final step to my pamper day is to unwind in your favourite way. My favourite is the put on my favourite movie or watch my reality TV shows. Curling up on the couch is my ideal way to end my pamper routine.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and got some inspiration on steps to add to your pamper routine.

Lots of love,
