As part of the Jen Travel series, the next European location is Prague. Prague is the perfect city getaway for a weekend or longer. From the beautiful collabalock streets to the history you are guaranteed to have an action packed weekend.
This city is known for its culture and arctitecure from Gothic Churches to the famous astronomical clock. I am going to highlight some key go to places from my short trip to this instagrammable city. I stayed in an area called Nove Mesto which was close enough to the centre but far enough that it wasn’t noisy.
This stunning castle is dating from the 9th Century. From its quirky little stores and glorious gardens, it truly is breathtaking. The castle is a must see for me, the views from the top are spectacular and really give you a different look and feel of the city.
The ice bar is a lot of fun. Granted if you have done one before then you probably will not be interested in another one as they all are very similar. The ice bar is located beside Charles bridge so it’s another location to tick off the list while you’re in the city. The drinks in the Ice Bar were surprisingly good so it could be a fun activity for after dinner before exploring Prague’s nightlife.
The old town was a highlight for me, this old town has so much character. I went in January and at the time it was snowing so the old town was covered in snow. The town boasts some of the most incredible restaurants and adorable cafe’s. I went to the old town most nights for dinner and drinks so it’s definitely a good option to stay close by. The infamous Astronomical Clock is located in the town which is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Prague.
Wenceslas Square is central to all of the shopping centres and stores. Most of the main hotel chains are located close to Wenceslas Square. There s also a metro stop there which is handy to walk to the old town and Charles bridge.
I hope this helps you decide on some activities to do while your time in Prague. If you have any questions comment below.
Till next time
What better way to start off a new week than to get yourself pampered. I’m always getting asked so many questions about my hair so I decided to write it in a post. I decided for this occasion I wanted to try out Zero One salon in their brand new location on Wicklow Street in Dublin’s City Centre. I’ve heard amazing reviews about this salon so I knew I was in good hands. I find it so hard to find a good hairdresser and to build up that trust.
After all, your hair is the crown you never take off!
Save to say all of the hype about Zero One salon is true. From the moment I walked in to this luxurious salon the experience was great. The staff were so friendly and made me felt straight at ease. The stand out feature has to be the starlight ceiling in the room were they wash your hair…. talk about relaxing.
I always get a lot of questions about my hair, I don’t wear extensions all of my hair is my own which took a lot of years to grow. I’ve started recently getting baby lights throughout my hair to add some dimension and shine to my hair. I love to curl my hair so the baby lights add that extra bit of glamour to my big waves. I typically get mid to long length layers to add volume and some texture to my long locks. I had two staff members look after me, one girl was the head colourist and a senior stylist. Both staff members were phenomenal at their job and extremely talent.
I always say that hair care is the most important aspect of your hair regardless of the style. I absolutely swear by Keraste products, I realise that they are a bit expensive and might not be in everyone’s price range. The have a wide range of shampoo’s & conditionors to suit every hair type. However, if you are looking to treat yourself try some of their hair masque’s out-their life changing. Usually around Christmas time salons have some Keraste hair pack gift sets for sale so keep an eye out for those.
Overall, I couldn’t recommend Zero One salon enough, there is two locations the main salon is in Greystones & their second and newest location on Wicklow Street in Dublin’s City Centre.
So there you have it, my thoughts on the brand new Zero One Salon on Wicklow Street.
